Fall Fashion at All Ages: Look Chic, Current & Fabulous

All right, ladies. I’m 55, and quite frankly, I’m tired of women being pigeonholed into how we’re supposed to dress at a certain age. Especially here in the South, where sometimes it feels like there are a few too many unwritten fashion rules.

Here’s what I think: Style doesn’t have an age limit, and neither should you.

There’s so much freedom in fashion. You just have to know how to put it together. It’s not about dressing like you’re 25 or suddenly dressing like a schoolmarm because you’re over a certain age. It’s about wearing what you love, knowing what works for your body, and making it your own.

So this fall, we’re throwing out the age rules and showing you how to wear fabulous clothes at all ages. Because looking current, feeling sexy, and having a little fun with fashion should never come with an expiration date.

The Valerie Sweater: Conservative or Sexy? Your Call.

This is one of the reasons I love the Valerie sweater. Wear it traditionally and you’ve got a beautiful, more conservative look. Pull it off one shoulder or create a fabulous cowl neckline, and suddenly you’ve got something a little sexier.

Same sweater. Completely different attitude.

Pair it with your favorite denim, a skirt, or leather pants. It’s all about how you style it and what you’re in the mood for.

French Sweaters: A Little Something You Won’t See Everywhere

Maria and I found these fabulous French sweaters while shopping in LA, and we’ve been obsessed ever since.

One of my favorite things about buying for Range is finding designers from all over the world, along with talented local designers, who create pieces you don’t see in every other store.

These sweaters are exactly why we love what we do. Gorgeous colors, unusual details, and a little personality. Throw one on with jeans and a great belt and you’re done.

Who wants to look like everybody else anyway?

Cali Cuerpo: Great Style Doesn’t Come in One Body Type

If you know me, you know Cali Cuerpo is one of my absolute favorite lines. It’s from Brazil, and these pieces somehow manage to look amazing on so many different body types.

The stretch, the fit, the comfort. It’s honestly hard to explain until you put one on.

And just because something is fitted doesn’t mean you shouldn’t wear it. Add a jacket if you want a different look, dress it up, dress it down, or just wear it exactly as it is.

Don’t rule something out before you’ve even tried it on.

I love beautiful clothes, but I also love being comfortable. And the two should absolutely go together.

L’AGENCE gives us incredible denim and beautifully made pieces, while Sundays has a knack for taking what’s happening on the runway and making it fresh, unique, comfortable, and actually wearable.

Mix a fabulous pair of jeans with an interesting top, add a great jacket, and you’ve got an outfit that works for lunch, dinner, or wherever the day takes you.

You don’t need to chase every trend. Just find the ones you love and make them your own.

The Secret Isn’t Your Age. It’s How You Put It Together.

I hear women say, “Am I too old for that?” all the time.

My response? Let’s try it on and see!

Sometimes it’s changing the shoes, adding a jacket, showing a little less skin in one place and a little more somewhere else. It’s all about balance.
